An idea of Empowering the Nation's Workforce.

Quality trusted across generations, since 1964

Ispahani Tea, the leading tea brand in India, owes its existence to the dedication and unwavering commitment of its founder, Late. Iqbal Husain. Starting his career as the owner of Shabbir Medical Hall, Hyderabad’s oldest pharmacy, Mr. Husain was always driven by the idea of making all kinds of medicines available to the people of Hyderabad. He spent countless sleepless nights procuring and importing medicines from all over the world to make them accessible to the people of Hyderabad and always said that CHAI was his friend during these times.

During a sister accompanying trip to Kolkata he happened to buy some teas with an idea to gift the renowned doctors in the city as a gesture of respect for their services, in keeping with old Nizami/Hyderabadi culture. He decided to gift them ‘Chai Patti’ (tea blend), realizing that doctors need energy to work long hours and manage stressful situations. This gesture soon became a pivotal move in the establishment of Ispahani Tea.

The tea blend that Mr. Husain gifted was of such high quality that the doctors were amazed and requested details of where it was acquired from. This led to the establishment of Ispahani Tea in 1964. The brand takes its name from the family that owned and ran a tea estate in Assam from where the tea was sourced.

For Mr. Husain, chai was an important tradition of Hyderabad City, and he believed that chai was the only natural energy drink that gives energy to people, given as a gift from nature to humankind. He was always driven by the pursuit of quality, and this dedication to quality is what has made Ispahani Tea a leading tea brand in India.

Late. Iqbal Husain, the founder of Ispahani Tea, passed away in November 2022 at the age of 102, but his mantle to uphold quality and empower the people of India has been passed on to his two sons – Mohammed and Salman Taiyebi. Today, Ispahani Tea continues to offer a wide range of tea products, including black tea, green tea, white tea, and flavored tea, catering to the diverse tastes of its loyal customers.

Mohammed Taiyebi and Salman Taiyebi, two brothers, share a common passion for tea. Their father, Mr. Iqbal Hussain, founded Ispahani Tea, Hyderabad’s most beloved tea brand, and instilled in his sons the values of dedication and commitment to quality.

As children, Mohammed and Salman accompanied their father on visits to tea plantations and manufacturing plants during the company’s initial stages, where they learned about the effectiveness of tea and the importance of maintaining high standards.

Now, for over 30 years, the brothers have been at the helm of Ispahani Tea, ensuring that the company upholds its promise of delivering the highest quality tea to its customers. Drawing on their father’s legacy and expertise, Mohammed and Salman have continued to grow the business while remaining true to the brand’s core values.

The Inception of Ispahani Tea in 1964

In 1964, Ispahani Tea was established by the visionary Mr. Iqbal Hussain, a man dedicated to providing quality products to the people of Hyderabad. Mr. Hussain was on a business trip to Calcutta to meet with renowned doctors in the city, and he decided to gift them something as a gesture of respect, in keeping with old Nizami/Hyderabadi culture. He chose to gift them a tea blend, realizing that doctors need energy to work long hours and manage stressful situations. The tea blend that Mr. Hussain gifted was of such high quality that the doctors were amazed and requested details of where it was acquired from. This led to the establishment of Ispahani Tea.

A Complete Distribution Channel

In 1990, as the demand for Ispahani Tea grew rapidly, the company took a bold step to establish an extensive distribution network throughout Hyderabad. The aim was to make Ispahani Tea accessible to everyone, from the bustling streets of the old city to the sprawling suburbs of the new city, as well as the rapidly developing areas of Hyderabad. With the establishment of an efficient and well-organized distribution channel, the tea products from Ispahani reached even the most remote locations, ensuring that every person in Hyderabad had access to the delicious and high-quality tea that the brand had become synonymous with. This unwavering commitment to accessibility and quality has been one of the key reasons for our Success.
